New abstract paintings at Cristi Fer Art Gallery and Workshops March 2019

Image
I enjoy a structured abstract that reflects and incorporated all elements of art. One favorite of mine is the negative space, relationship between shapes variety of lines and subdued contract of color. The following are some paintings that derived from the same subject. The titles are On the Way to Dolores 1 On the Way to Dolores 2 The drive between San Miguel de Allende and Dolores is about 45 min, on a narrow road meandering hills and small communities. The paintings can be viewed as depicting at least 2 different subjects in a microcosmic and/ or bird view perspective. 3.5 ft x 3.5 ft

I new them I am exploring, women on the beach. May be because it's soooo cold here and I need a visit to the Caribbean. I know many Canadians would take our freezing Winter of 44-60 C over their own!

Latest review from painting workshop participant

Image
"We signed up for the five-day acrylic class, which run in the mornings M-F. Each day, Cristi had a different concept/technique to teach us. Starting from abstract warm ups and use of tools, then progressing to shading, perspective, and negative spaces. Both Cristi and Fernando are accomplished artists, each quite different in style, and it was a privilege to be guided through the creation of works by them. We created three final paintings, plus the warm ups. Classes are in studio, and they work with each individual in what one is interested in creating and one's ability. You work fast and furious, and in flash the week was gone. I'm thrilled with the result and have even more respect for artists and their knowledge. Never again will I say, "I can do that!" when I see an abstract, I can now really appreciate works not just for beauty, but the act of creation." July 2016, Melbourne, Australia

One of the May 2016 painting  groups at Cristi Fer Art Studio in San Miguel de Allende What a great month to be in San Miguel de Allende! A little hotter then usual, in the upper 80's. Less rain to speak off! May it's a month full of flowers, events, every weekend it's a celebration, parade, music concerts, mariachi, fireworks name it and it's going on. Some call it the low season, but for us at Cristi Fer Art Studio it has being a busy month. Working on new paintings both Fernando and I have being putting a lot of time in the studio. The class especial the One Painting in One Day, Doors of San Miguel, has being well attended, and some of the participants returned more then once bringing friends and family members. Next week, Monday May 30 we will start a week long Expressionist Painting workshop. And we still have 2 spots, in case you are interested! Thank you for visiting our website!

Painting of the day June 5 2015

This is another painting I have started several month ago. When I start a painting I have a "vision" of what I want to represent. As I paint the "painting " takes over the process. I always tell the workshop participants "Let the painting paint itself" It's relay the best way, if we listen, the painting dictates the balance. But when I get interrupted, and go back to it, I no longer remember the initial vision so I have to work with what is already on the paper.
